Craziest Weekend EVER!!!

I would have written this blog yesterday, but after you read what happened this weekend, you will understand why I am just now getting to it.

Friday night was pretty normal...Saturday morning is when all the events started taking place. Missy and I told our friend Melissa that we would come to watch Charity, Melissa's 5-year old, do her cheerleading. Charity was so cute in her Cheerleading uniform, but we didn't get to see much. The game started at 9am and it was in Fairfield so we had to get up at the butt-crack of dawn...LOL! The disappointing part of the cheerleading was that we really didn't get to see Charity do anything. Her cheerleading squad was just walking around the gym cheering to the three basketball games that were going on.

Then we all went from the basketball games in Fairfield to Melissa's house in Mason to eat lunch and that would also give Missy time to finish a cake for Melissa's cousin. (It's amazing to me that we can jam pack our days so full of activities and still have our sanity!)

We all eat lunch and then it's time to leave for Rebekah's basketball game at 2pm...so it's back to Fairfield for another game. (Rebekah is Melissa's 9-year old) This game was much more entertaining than watching Charity's cheerleading. We were able to see Beka play basketball and she even got the ball and made a basket during the game!

So, from Beka's basketball game, Missy needed to drop off the cake to Melissa's cousin in Loveland. Melissa didn't give us directions to her cousin's house, but I kinda knew where we needed to go. Missy asked Melissa if we could follow her there so that we could find the place easier. Melissa sped off on the highway and we lost her. We are getting close to her cousin's house and that's when Melissa calls us to find out where we were. Turns out that we went too far on the road we were on and we needed to turn around. Missy finds a driveway to turn around in and misses half the driveway and we get stuck in the snow with the butt of the car sticking out in the middle of the road. At this point we are very frustrated and Kaylie is sitting in the backseat being as calm as ever. There were probably 20-30 cars that passed by us and no one would stop to help push the car out of the snow. FINALLY, a stranger stops and helps Missy push the car out of the snow and we make it to Melissa's cousin's house!

Oh wait...that's not all! From dropping off the birthday cake, we were heading over to Missy's grandma's house for a visit and Kaylie was very excited to go see Grandma Hack! Grandma was very entertained by Kaylie and it made her day. While we are at Grandma Hack's house, Missy's brother, Doug calls and asks if we are home because he wanted to stop by to see Kaylie. So, we head home so that we can see Missy's brother and visit with him for a while. After Doug leaves our apartment, the day is FINALLY OVER!

My mom always tells me that we need to slow down and not make so many plans in one day, but I don't know if I would have it any other way. It's kinda fun to see how much we can do in one day, but then we are so exhausted after it all.

Then Sunday comes along and we experience an AMAZING church service. The Praise Team ROCKED! Ray's message was AMAZING! I don't know how many times I've said this, but every week I thank God for helping Missy and I find Center Pointe.

After Church, our small group goes to Donatos for some awesome pizza and fellowship, then we move onto John and Jan's house for some awesome small group discussion about the Book of Revelation. From small group, Missy and I go to drop Kaylie off at home and then head back to the church for the SUPER BOWL PARTY! Go STEELERS!!! (Sorry Ray, I had to say it!)

While we were dropping Kaylie off at home, my mom calls me to tell me that my dad was involved in a car accident and she is going to the hospital to see what happened. She said that she would call me as soon as she knows something. It turns out that my dad's blood sugar levels dropped and he passed out behind the wheel and hit someone and ran a red light. I won't go into detail since Missy already posted a blog about it. The hospital wanted to keep him overnight and he was supposed to come home yesterday. Well, my mom calls me yesterday and tells me that they want to keep him another night to make sure that his chest and heart are okay. So, I decided that my mom doesn't need to spend two nights alone in her house without Dad, so I came over to her house yesterday and I'm still here today to dog-sit. Lucy, Mom and Dad's boston terrier, doesn't want anything to do with me because her Daddy hasn't been here and she just knows that something isn't right. I'm still waiting to find out if they are letting Dad come home today, but I sure hope they do. He can't get any rest in the hospital because of all the nurses coming in and out of the room all night long and Dad is going stir-crazy!

I'd like to thank everyone for all the prayers for my dad. I'll keep everyone posted on what's going on with him.

You forgot to mention that ALL of the driveways were snow covered on the road I was trying to turn around on and there was traffic everywhere so I tried to make a quick turn and overshot the driveway because it all looked the same because of the snow. I hope that they let your Dad come home today. Keep me posted.

Oh yeah...thanks Missy for mentioning that. I kinda thought that the blog was already long enough and I didn't want to add any more details to it.
