Who turned out the lights??
Thank heavens I'm not in the dark...but what happened? I was at the grocery store with Missy on Sunday afternoon and our hair was getting blown all over the place. You can forget looking descent when the wind is blowing so fiercely. We come home and our lights are out. My first thought is, "Thank God it's Sunday cause I don't want to miss any of my TV shows." So, I hear from everyone in our small group that their power is out too...and I'm confused even more. This never happens. Well, in the morning, I get up and get ready for work in the dark and I start driving to work...in the dark. Every house and business that I pass is....you guessed it...in the dark. My mom told me that it was because of hurricane winds. What's up with that...a hurricane in Cincinnati? This just keeps getting more weird. So, I arrive at work and there is no one. It is obvious that we are closed. I came across one other person in the parking lot and he said, "Looks like we're closed, I guess we'll come back tomorrow." So, I go back home and try to take a nap, but that doesn't work out and I go to my parents house in Bethel because they have power. I took a cooler full of food over there so that all of our food wasn't ruined. Then to make the day interesting, Missy came home from work...meanwhile I'm still in Bethel...and she texts me and tells me that WE HAVE POWER!!! Thank you God!! Unfortunately, there are still hundreds of thousands of people still waiting for their lights to come on, but please just have patience! So, I go to work today and there are actually people there and I see lights on at the plant where I work. I was kinda disappointed that I would have to work, but when I walk in the building, I can see the problem. People are just sitting around and half the lights are on. We sit and we sit and nothing happens. Our bosses came to the conclusion that at 10am, the power wasn't going to be fully restored and we got sent home. So, here I am still being affected with Cincinnati's Blackout. Hopefully this will all be over soon.
