I can't believe I have some time to relax! So, I'm sitting here and catching up on reading blogs and thinking that I should take a few minutes to write one myself.
These past couple of weeks have been pretty crazy. My main concern is work. Yes...I'm working, but everyday it gets harder and harder to go in and deal with the difficult environment. The 9-10 hour days are wearing my body down and it's effecting my workout schedule. That's right....I joined Snap Fitness with Missy and we are trying to workout everyday. Because of work and other scheduling issues, I haven't been to the gym since Tuesday. But I'm sure that will change today...I'm sure we'll be going to the gym after Small Group tonight. I'm really excited about the weight that I have already lost...and can't wait to lose more!
There is so much going on right now and I just can't believe how time is flying so fast! Before I know it, 2009 will be over....I better enjoy it now!!!!!!!!!

Finally....A Day Off!!
I took a little road trip to spend the day with one of my best friends (and Scentsy sponsor), Amanda. Amanda lives near Lexington and I wanted to just get away from everyday life and come down here to relax for a day. I was able to sleep in till 9am! I haven't done that in a while because I work and every time I turn around...there is something Scentsy related that I have to take care of.
I'm lovin' Scentsy! There is really a lot of fun involved and it's great that I get to work with Amanda on ideas for parties so that we can earn fun money! It's not really like a job at all, but it's a cool way to earn some extra cash. Missy has helped me tremendously with Scentsy too! She is my "Human Calculator" and my "UPS pick-up girl"! Thanks Missy and Amanda for all you do to help me out with this! Oh and if anyone is reading this and you're curious as to what Scentsy is...just go to my website and check it out....and if you book a party, you could earn free and half priced product. My website is www.scentsy.com/makinscents and you can also reach me via email at makinscents@live.com to ask any questions.
Missy and I have been so busy traveling too. We love to go to our concerts and spend time with our favorite bands! Last month we went to Paducah, KY to see Emerson Drive and then we also went to Pittsburgh to see Adam Gregory and Quincy, IL to see Emerson Drive AGAIN!!! We don't have any concerts planned this month because no one is close enough to go see, but there will be more in the future....I'm sure of it!
Well....I guess since it's almost 1pm, I better hop in the shower and start my day...I love doing NOTHING!!!
Have a great day everyone!

Yes...I'm here...
Hey everyone! I have had several conversations during the past couple of days about how I haven't blogged in almost a month. So, basically this is a blog about why I haven't been blogging!
I started working! At first, I wasn't thrilled with the job because the atmosphere isn't a very pleasant place to be. Everyone keeps to themselves and during the first week, I only knew how to do 2 or 3 things and it was getting boring fast. I just felt like I didn't fit in and I have never experienced that at a job before.
The next reason why you haven't seen me a lot lately is because I have become a Scentsy Wickless Independent Consultant. Missy is helping me with parties...she is my human calculator! I am having a blast having candle parties with everyone, but it is taking up a lot of time and I don't know how to organize my time better.
I will admit that I haven't been on the computer a lot lately and it's also because of all the awesome TV shows that are on. I have struggled with staying away from the TV, but these shows are so addicting! I love reality TV and I just can't get away from it. Which reminds me, my friend, Chuck Wicks, will be dancing on Dancing with the Stars with his girlfriend starting on ABC, Monday, March 9th....please watch and VOTE! I told Chuck last week that he was going to win because of all the phone numbers and email addresses that Missy and I have!
So, that has been what's going on. There is a lot more I'm sure that I left out, but I have to get ready to go to a concert in Paducah, KY tonight. I hope to see everyone at church in the morning! Have a great day!

It is FINALLY time......
......to go back to work! Yes! I finally got a call today to start a job tomorrow! This is a shipping/receiving job and it's over on Reading Road (near Ronald Regan Highway) and it's thru a temp agency, but I'm just happy to be going back to work. I'm always a little nervous about starting a new job, but let's hope this one goes smoothly. Although it may be just a temporary job, it is a long term job with the possibilty of them hiring me! With all my shipping experience, there shouldn't be a problem with learning the job, but every company works differently. Please pray that everything goes smoothly for me tomorrow!

Reality TV Shows!
One of my all time favorite things to do is watch Reality TV shows. Think about it...they are everywhere! Survivor is my favorite, followed by American Idol! But I was just thinking about how different each one is. I've watched True Beauty, Amazing Race, Survivor, American Idol, America's Got Talent, Beauty and The Geek, Deal or No Deal, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Hell's Kitchen, Nashville Star, Secret Millionaire, While You Were Out, Trading Spaces, and Dancing With The Stars!!! There are thousands of them and I can't imagine watching more than I already do, but this season is going to be great on Dancing With The Stars!
As many of you know, Missy and I love to travel and see concerts. Our absolute favorite band to go see is Emerson Drive and another favorite country music artist is Chuck Wicks. Chuck is so fun to talk to and visit with after his shows and for a while now, Chuck has been dating Dancing With The Stars Dancer, Julianne Hough. Now it's just been announced that Chuck will be on the show this season and his partner will be his girlfriend, Julianne. They are so cute together and Chuck is such a goofball! It's going to be totally interesting to see him on the show this year! The season starts on Monday, March 9th on ABC!! Be sure to tune in and watch Chuck and Julianne dance all their way to the championship!
I know I will be voting for them...how about you?

Ray got naked again?!?!?
"All the Way Ray" is what we like to call him...especially when he drops his shorts on the beach! I mean....geesh, Ray! How many times are we going to have to see that? Ray always knows how to turn a boring day into an extraordinary day with all this streaking he's been participating in!
So, after our small group tonight at the Strimple's house, we decided to sit down and watch last week's episode of "True Beauty". John and Jan got Missy and I hooked on this show because of all the drama on the show. If you love to watch reality TV shows, then this is a good one. One of the contestants on the show, Ray, is famous for stripping and running around naked. We know that this show doesn't sound like it would be an interesting show, but you'd just have to watch it to understand. These "beauties" are on the show to compete for People's Magazine "Most Beautiful Person" article. They are being judged on their inner beauty as well and they don't even know it!
Haha you all thought that I was talking about P Ray, didn't you? LOL

The Price is Right!
Yesterday was a very exciting day! Missy and I were on the Price is Right! Sarah invited me over to her house for a Price is Right party and it was so much fun hanging out with her. I asked Christine on Sunday if she would like me to pick her up so that she could join the party and she said yes. We spend almost 5 hours at Sarah's house just talking and laughing and watching all the boys play. I learned a lot yesterday...Eli knows how to undress himself and Isaac loves to fly in the air! Isaac loves to read Hop on Pop and Eli loves the ball pit! There were some interesting topics that came up in our 5-hour discussion...like how many times a day do you clean your ears and how many states does everyone live in? Of course when girls get together, you never know what's going to come out of their mouths! It was a great day and I can't wait to do it again! Thanks Sarah for hosting the party and baking for us!
Craziest Weekend EVER!!!
I would have written this blog yesterday, but after you read what happened this weekend, you will understand why I am just now getting to it.
Friday night was pretty normal...Saturday morning is when all the events started taking place. Missy and I told our friend Melissa that we would come to watch Charity, Melissa's 5-year old, do her cheerleading. Charity was so cute in her Cheerleading uniform, but we didn't get to see much. The game started at 9am and it was in Fairfield so we had to get up at the butt-crack of dawn...LOL! The disappointing part of the cheerleading was that we really didn't get to see Charity do anything. Her cheerleading squad was just walking around the gym cheering to the three basketball games that were going on.
Then we all went from the basketball games in Fairfield to Melissa's house in Mason to eat lunch and that would also give Missy time to finish a cake for Melissa's cousin. (It's amazing to me that we can jam pack our days so full of activities and still have our sanity!)
We all eat lunch and then it's time to leave for Rebekah's basketball game at 2pm...so it's back to Fairfield for another game. (Rebekah is Melissa's 9-year old) This game was much more entertaining than watching Charity's cheerleading. We were able to see Beka play basketball and she even got the ball and made a basket during the game!
So, from Beka's basketball game, Missy needed to drop off the cake to Melissa's cousin in Loveland. Melissa didn't give us directions to her cousin's house, but I kinda knew where we needed to go. Missy asked Melissa if we could follow her there so that we could find the place easier. Melissa sped off on the highway and we lost her. We are getting close to her cousin's house and that's when Melissa calls us to find out where we were. Turns out that we went too far on the road we were on and we needed to turn around. Missy finds a driveway to turn around in and misses half the driveway and we get stuck in the snow with the butt of the car sticking out in the middle of the road. At this point we are very frustrated and Kaylie is sitting in the backseat being as calm as ever. There were probably 20-30 cars that passed by us and no one would stop to help push the car out of the snow. FINALLY, a stranger stops and helps Missy push the car out of the snow and we make it to Melissa's cousin's house!
Oh wait...that's not all! From dropping off the birthday cake, we were heading over to Missy's grandma's house for a visit and Kaylie was very excited to go see Grandma Hack! Grandma was very entertained by Kaylie and it made her day. While we are at Grandma Hack's house, Missy's brother, Doug calls and asks if we are home because he wanted to stop by to see Kaylie. So, we head home so that we can see Missy's brother and visit with him for a while. After Doug leaves our apartment, the day is FINALLY OVER!
My mom always tells me that we need to slow down and not make so many plans in one day, but I don't know if I would have it any other way. It's kinda fun to see how much we can do in one day, but then we are so exhausted after it all.
Then Sunday comes along and we experience an AMAZING church service. The Praise Team ROCKED! Ray's message was AMAZING! I don't know how many times I've said this, but every week I thank God for helping Missy and I find Center Pointe.
After Church, our small group goes to Donatos for some awesome pizza and fellowship, then we move onto John and Jan's house for some awesome small group discussion about the Book of Revelation. From small group, Missy and I go to drop Kaylie off at home and then head back to the church for the SUPER BOWL PARTY! Go STEELERS!!! (Sorry Ray, I had to say it!)
While we were dropping Kaylie off at home, my mom calls me to tell me that my dad was involved in a car accident and she is going to the hospital to see what happened. She said that she would call me as soon as she knows something. It turns out that my dad's blood sugar levels dropped and he passed out behind the wheel and hit someone and ran a red light. I won't go into detail since Missy already posted a blog about it. The hospital wanted to keep him overnight and he was supposed to come home yesterday. Well, my mom calls me yesterday and tells me that they want to keep him another night to make sure that his chest and heart are okay. So, I decided that my mom doesn't need to spend two nights alone in her house without Dad, so I came over to her house yesterday and I'm still here today to dog-sit. Lucy, Mom and Dad's boston terrier, doesn't want anything to do with me because her Daddy hasn't been here and she just knows that something isn't right. I'm still waiting to find out if they are letting Dad come home today, but I sure hope they do. He can't get any rest in the hospital because of all the nurses coming in and out of the room all night long and Dad is going stir-crazy!
I'd like to thank everyone for all the prayers for my dad. I'll keep everyone posted on what's going on with him.

Road Trip!
I'm getting out of the house for a couple of days! One of my best friends, Amanda, moved to a suburb of Lexington last year and I don't get to see her that often...so I'm heading down to see her and her family tomorrow and Friday.
I have been going crazy in this apartment all the time and now I finally get to get out of this place for a while.
Don't worry, Diana...I will be back in time for your jewelry party! I wouldn't want to miss it!
I hope everyone has a nice Thursday and Friday... I know I will!

Thank You!
Sarah left this comment on my last blog.....
"I will continue to pray for you! You are such a cool girl that any employer should feel lucky to have you."
This quote got me to thinking. Missy said the same thing to me tonight about how these employers don't know what they are missing out on. That really makes me feel good!
I just want to say to Sarah and Missy.....THANKS!
Missy knows how down in the dumps I have been these past couple of days and these are just the words that I needed to hear. I'm going to apply for jobs like it's going out of style tomorrow. I'll admit that I haven't had my heart into applying for jobs these past couple of days and I'm letting my bad mood get in the way. No more of that! I'm tired of being a failure and I'm going to find the right job for me! God is going to show me where to go and He will bring the right job to me. I just have to keep believing!

Random Thoughts.....
I'm just sitting here wondering why in the world I'm still awake at 12:55am??!!??? I just don't know what to do with my schedule anymore. I'm having the strangest dreams at night and it's causing me to not sleep very well and I'm bored out of my mind! I have no money coming in, because I just can't find a job that I'm qualified for, so I don't want to go out and waste gas in my gas guzzling truck! I'm going out of my mind and there are only so many jobs you can apply for in one day and there are only so many people you can call in one day. I'm going insane! I'm trying to have a good daily schedule so that when I do go back to work, maybe it will be easier for me to get back into the swing of things. I'm trying to get up no later than 8am so that I can get my daily job searches done during business hours. But it's just not working!
I'm going to try to go to bed, now that it's 1:02am...and we'll see what tomorrow brings! Have a great day, everyone!

Boredom
Here I sit...with nothing to do other than apply for more jobs. The good news is that I keep finding job ads online to apply for. I just wish that I would get phone calls from all the people that I'm applying for. I have an appointment tomorrow at 3pm to meet with TRAK staffing. The lady I talked to today said that they have temp-to-hire positions as well as direct hire positions and she told me that with my office experience, they are very excited to work with me, so I just pray that something comes out of this appointment.
I did get out of the house for a little bit today. My wonderful Mom, came over to my apartment today to take me out to lunch and go shopping a little bit. She only works two short days a week, so that gives her time to come and visit me. It gets boring talking on the phone all day and applying for jobs online. It's too cold to go out and enjoy nature, so I feel like a cooped up chicken...LOL.
I would love to find something that I could do around the house to earn money. I kept thinking about selling stuff on Ebay, but Missy and I sold all our stuff for that HUGE vacation that we took last month. I just wish it was easier to bring in money.
Well....can you believe Christmas is right around the corner? It's sneaking right up on us. I can't wait to spend time with friends and family! The only thing I want for Christmas........IS A JOB!!!

Job Search
For the past two days I've been sitting in front of my computer trying to come up with a killer resume. I've been going to all kinds of websites trying to find resume samples and good formats to base my new resume on. So far, there has been no luck with applying for jobs, but there is still time. I just hope that something comes thru eventually. If anyone can help me with my resume, please let me know!! I'm desperate!

What now?
Where do I start? For those of you that don't know, one of my trends this year has been going to concerts. I went to a concert on Wednesday night for one of my favorite country artists, Chuck Wicks. So, I was out until about 3am that night and had to work on Thursday morning.
I went to work on Thursday morning with only 3 hours of sleep that night because I promised my boss that I would be there. I walk in the door and my boss is standing there and I told her (very cheerfully) that I'm tired, but I'm here. The only words out of her mouth are, "You're tired?" I said, "Yep! But I'm here!" The next thing she said was, "Jerry wants to see you in the training room."
For those of you that have been reading my blog, there was a rough spot a few months ago with me being critisized for every little thing I did at work and I felt like there was just something they wanted to find on me so they could get rid of me.
Well, I go to the training room and Jerry instructs me to go to his boss's (Dan) office and have a seat. I'm very confused at this point. I keep thinking...why am I talking to Dan? So, Dan starts telling me that he has a letter that he needs to read to me from our CEO/President. Dan starts reading the letter and basically tells me there is a group of people that they are letting go because they have to downsize.
Then I get escorted back into the training room where there is a group of about 10 people. All 10 of us have just gotten fired! What's up with this? At first I was kind of relieved that they didn't just find something on me and they were firing me. I later find out there are firing 21 people. I did get a descent severence package, but how is that going to help? What am I going to do? I need a job and unemployment rates have skyrocketed! I don't get it, but now it's just something else that I have to hand over to God and let him handle. Hopefully something is out there for me, but what?
Where do I go from here?

California Adventures # 3
I'm sure ya'll are curious about what our first day in California was like after we FINALLY found our hotel.....so the story continues.....
After being awake for about 21 hours on Friday, we realize that we are only going to get about 5 hours of sleep because we wanted to be at the San Diego Zoo when it opened at 9am. Our hotel in Anaheim was about 90 minutes from the Zoo, so we were in for a long day of driving.
On our way to the zoo, Missy wanted to drive our very cool rental car. I'm in awe of nature's beauty on the way south to San Diego. We are driving along I-5 South and on the left side of the highway we see beautiful mountains and on the right side of the highway we see the ocean! It was a beautiful sight! We didn't realize that we were so close to the ocean and then....BAM....there it was! So, Missy feels the urge to test out our rental car and see wants to see how fast she can make it go. First off, let me say that the speed limits on California highways are 65 MPH. If you don't go 80-85 MPH...you will get run over! There are no cops in sight and Missy has a clear road. The next thing I know....we're going 95 MPH!! Go Missy! You rock! So, we are at the zoo in no time thanks to Missy's driving...LOL and we start looking at all the awesome exhibits. (Missy and I are working on getting all the pics onto a Photobucket album, but it takes a while to get 800+ pics on their website)
One of the funniest things that we saw at the zoo was a Mommy Gorilla taking care of business and she was peeing in the grass. Her baby gorilla comes up to her (while she's pottying) and puts his hand right in the middle of it and the baby gorilla then takes his wet hand and rubs it on his Mommy! It was definately the funniest thing that I have ever seen happen at a zoo!
Many people have asked me what is so special about the San Diego Zoo? Well...I'll share a few things with all of you. The main reason it's so special is the size of the zoo... its Gigantic!! They have many different shuttles around the zoo so that you can see the whole thing in 1 day. We rode on a two-decker tour bus so that we could see most of the zoo and then we walked the rest of it. The panda bear exhibit was amazing! The Giant Pandas aren't as giant as you may think they are, but they sure are adorable. The also have many different types of animals like the wallabee (which is a mini kangaroo), koalas (which were hiding in the trees), camels, llamas, 17 giant tortoises and many others. They even have an aerial tram that takes you from one end of the zoo to the other. The zoo has many forms of transportation so that you can get around very fast and easy.
On our way out of San Diego, we stop for a bite to eat at an Italian Restaurant called Bacione Ristorante. I believe this was the worlds smallest italian restaurant (with only about 10-15 tables) but they had the worlds best marinara sauce! No joke...it was the best marinara I have ever had! Missy ordered Chicken and pasta in a white wine garlic cream sauce and it was awesome too! Our appetizer was a fancy loaf of bread with just the right blend of garlic and cheeses.
The one thing that we were surprised about was how nice everyone was to us. Driving on the highway was a different story, but everyone we encountered was very nice. I guess when I went out to California I expected to run into people that were snooty and rich...boy was I wrong...LOL.
So, here we were with our tummies full and we are both really tired from the lack of sleep we had and I told Missy that I would drive home. Thankfully we drove back before rush hour and made it back to the hotel quickly because of the flow of traffic. I was able to get some open road (just like Missy did) and break her 95 MPH record and I went 100 MPH!!! It was a great feeling. Words cannot express how happy I was to do 100! I know it sounds insane, but it really gave me great joy! LOL
I hope everyone is enjoying our blogs and we will have more to come! Stay tuned for more adventures!

Continuation of California Adventures.....
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families. I know I sure did. It was so much fun spending time with friends and family.
I still can't believe that Missy and I are home from our wonderful 9-day vacation. The week went so quickly and of course we have lots of stories to tell. You'll have to be sure to read mine and Missy's blogs so that you can get all of the stories that we have to share.
Missy just wrote a blog about our first night on the planes and the trouble with the brakes on the plane that we were in first. I still couldn't believe there was something wrong with the brakes, but God took care of us... He always does.
So, we left with our awesome Mazda 3 rental car from the John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, CA and TRIED to find our hotel in Anaheim. The biggest problem with finding the hotel was the fact that the street addresses that we were looking at did not go in order. So, here we were driving down Katella Ave in Anaheim after midnight and we just keep doing U-turns because we keep thinking that the hotel is supposed to be somewhere in the vicinity. We were both getting aggravated because we had been awake for over 20 hours at this point and we wanted to sleep. So, I just keep doing U-turns to try to figure out where this hotel is. I called the hotel and spoke to a man that barely spoke english and he couldn't answer my questions. I was totally frustrated at this point. I finally decide to just keep driving one way on Katella Ave. and see what is at the other side. We finally see the hotel!! But how do we get to it?? It was sitting behind another building and I ended up doing another round of U-turns to try to get into the hotel parking lot. With over an hour of driving up and down Katella, we finally ended up finding the road that went back to our hotel. So, my lesson for the day was...do not ever trust street addresses! Keep that in mind if you ever visit Anaheim, CA.
Missy and I will continue writing blogs about what happened on our vacation....you'll just have to stay tuned. If you would like to hear specific stories about what happened, please comment and let us know. We can certainly answer your questions in our blogs.

Today's Randomness
I can't believe that it's been two weeks since I've written a blog. I'm surprised some of you haven't said anything to me on MySpace! By the way, if you're not my MySpace friend and you'd like to be, you can find me at www.myspace.com/sparkles12780
So, first off....the election. As I sit here and watch the Oprah Show and see Will Smith and Oprah talk about how happy they are about Obama being the President-Elect, I wonder...what is happening to our country? I'll be the first one to admit that I don't like watching politics on TV or even talking about politics, but this is very disturbing to me. I feel that Obama is going to lead us in the wrong direction. My mom, who is all for Obama, was telling me that "Change is what we need." I guess we'll just have to wait and see......
I can't believe that I'm only 8 days away from being on a plane to CALIFORNIA!!!!!!!!!! How ironic is it that just last week at small group we were talking about things on our "Bucket List." This trip is going to be amazing. I wish every one of my friends could go with Missy and I. You know what they say....the more, the merrier. This trip includes so many things on my bucket list...like going to California. One of my life long dreams is to go to The Price is Right and see Hollywood. I'm still in shock that we are actually leaving next week!
Many of you, at church have been asking me how my job has been going. You may recall my very first blog was about feeling like there was a target over my head. Work is going better, but it still gets on my nerves. I'm just trying to be thankful for what I have, even though I can't get it done my way sometimes.
PLEASE join the Smith Small Group after the spaghetti luncheon on Sunday afternoon to watch the movie, Bucket List. This ties into our current series so well....30 days to Live. I've been thinking a lot lately about how I need to live my life differently and "live in the moment."
Lastly, I would like all your prayers and support during this next week. I know that most of you don't know the story behind my divorce, but my husband gets out of Prison on Tuesday, November 11th. I am very worried about this. He knows my address and I don't know if he will come here to contact me. The police tell me that I can't get a restraining order unless he threatens or harms me in any way...so I'm going to be worried about that. Also, on Wednesday, November 12th I have my divorce hearing. I tried to get this hearing taken care of while he was in prison, but things happened and all of it changed. I just hope and pray that everything goes smoothly and I do okay when I see my husband at the hearing on Wednesday.
I'm going to try to write blogs more often so that I don't have 50 different topics in one blog. I'm sure ya'll are just happy to hear from me.
Until Next Time......

Come on Down.......
.........You're the Next Contestant on The Price Is Right!
It has always been my dream to be on this game show, and now it could happen!! Missy was browsing around online and stumbled upon some tickets to Universal Studios Hollywood. But when she found the tickets, they were way out of our price range. A light bulb went off in my head and I said, "Missy, The Price Is Right is in Hollywood! We could go be on The Price Is Right!" So she looked into it and she ended up finding tickets to go to the show!!!!!!!!!
Not only did Missy find tickets to go to The Price Is Right, she found tickets to go be in the audience for The Wheel of Fortune...another favorite game show of mine! Not only will be be able to be in the audience, we will get to tour the building. The great thing about the building is The Wizard of Oz was filmed in the same building that Wheel of Fortune is taped in right now!!! The Wizard of Oz is one of my all time favorite movies!!! Maybe they will have movie props and stuff for me to take pictures of!!!
There are only 25 days left till vacation! It's going to be a BLAST!!!!
